“Traditional” can refer to marriage, faith, family roles, courtship, finances, community, or sexual boundaries. Define it instead of assuming a shared dictionary.
What matters in practice
No arrangement is traditional enough to replace consent and negotiation. Roles work when both partners understand them, want them, and can discuss change.
Look for consistency between stated ideals and conduct. Courtesy toward a date means little if it disappears around staff, relatives, or former partners.
